State-owned MOIL Limited in India produced 153,000 metric tons of manganese ore in February 2025, a 1.3% increase year on year. The firm noted it represented its highest February output ever. But the most recent figure is still below the 160,000 metric tons that was produced in January 2025.

The accomplishment was informed in a regulatory filing on March 3, wherein MOIL described that it was making constant efforts to increase production capabilities. The drop in production from January had not raised an alarm and was not read as a setback but rather as a natural part of the automatic machine the company had to embrace so that production was never halted.

Exploration: MOIL further improved in exploration activities. In February, the company successfully carried out an impressive 11,455 metres of exploratory core drilling, which represents a 43% year-on-year increase. MOIL said the sharp increase in exploration volume is in line with its strategy of developing volume to ensure sustainable production levels in the OG sar mineral available for several more years to come.

MOIL Limited, to play its significant role in making manganese ore available to the Indian steel industry and its dependence has increased manifold on it, it is continuously focusing on maximizing production efficiency and exploring new reserves. The company’s steady performance sentiment will be given a positive indication towards the domestic steel sector, which is heavily dependent on manganese in the manufacturing processes.

Industry experts see the new production numbers as an indication of MOIL’s strength in the face of evolving market conditions and successful operational strategies. With the ongoing emphasis on exploration and resource expansion, the company’s performance is expected to remain in the spotlight for stakeholders in the mining and steel sectors.
