Tamil Nadu has taken another major step toward decentralising its IT growth. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin virtually inaugurated the State’s first mini-TIDEL Park at Abdullapuram in Vellore, located near the upcoming airport on the Chennai–Bengaluru National Highway. The state-of-the-art facility, developed at an estimated cost of ₹32 crore, spans 60,000 sq.ft. and marks a significant milestone in the State’s efforts to promote balanced regional development in the information technology sector.
The new facility is expected to generate around 600 job opportunities in the initial phase, benefiting youth in Vellore and nearby districts. It aims to bring major IT and IT-enabled service companies closer to emerging talent pools in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, reducing the dependence on traditional IT hubs like Chennai and Coimbatore.
Equipped with modern infrastructure, high-speed connectivity, and flexible workspace layouts, the mini-TIDEL Park offers a conducive environment for startups, small enterprises, and established IT firms looking to expand into new markets. The park also features energy-efficient designs and common amenities that support a collaborative and sustainable work culture.
The operation and maintenance of the Vellore mini-TIDEL Park have been entrusted to E.S. Healthcare, which will ensure that the facility runs seamlessly while maintaining top standards in safety, comfort, and technology support.
Speaking at the launch, officials noted that the project aligns with Tamil Nadu’s vision of transforming Tier-II cities into growth engines for the digital economy. The government’s ongoing efforts to build similar mini-TIDEL Parks across other cities, including Madurai, Tiruchi, Salem, Karur, and Hosur, highlight its focus on equitable IT growth across regions.
The inauguration of the Vellore mini-TIDEL Park reaffirms Tamil Nadu’s position as a leading destination for technology investments, innovation, and skilled employment in South India.
