KNR Constructions has secured a ₹157.54 crore engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for urban road infrastructure works in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills.
The contract, announced on August 29, 2026, covers the design and construction of a two-lane unidirectional flyover along with a heavy-duty underpass at key junctions in the area. The project has been awarded with a 24-month completion period.
The infrastructure package is aimed at addressing traffic congestion at some of Banjara Hills’ busy junctions, where rising vehicle movement has placed increasing pressure on the existing road network. The proposed flyover and underpass are expected to provide additional grade-separated road capacity and improve traffic movement through the area.
For KNR Constructions, the order adds to its growing exposure to urban infrastructure projects. The company has traditionally had a strong presence in large road and highway construction projects, while contracts such as this provide an opportunity to expand its urban mobility portfolio.
Executing major civil infrastructure projects within a densely developed part of Hyderabad will require careful traffic management alongside construction activity. The project will involve structural works and associated civil construction in an active urban environment, where maintaining traffic flow during the construction period will be an important consideration.
The contract also comes at a time when Hyderabad continues to invest in transport infrastructure to accommodate growing traffic volumes. Grade-separated infrastructure such as flyovers and underpasses is increasingly being used at congested junctions to improve road capacity without requiring major expansion of existing corridors.
The Banjara Hills project could therefore become another significant urban infrastructure assignment for KNR Constructions in Telangana. The company’s execution over the next two years will be closely watched as Hyderabad continues to expand its road and mobility infrastructure.
For the construction sector, the project also indicates continued demand for specialised civil engineering capabilities in major cities, particularly for infrastructure designed to address traffic bottlenecks and improve urban connectivity.
