JSW Cement Unveils ₹11000 Crore Expansion Plan to Boost Production Capacity to 41 Million Tonnes

JSW Cement has unveiled a large scale expansion plan that aims to double its production capacity over the next three years. The company will invest ₹11000 crore to increase its current capacity of 20 million tonnes to 41 million tonnes by 2028. This strategic move positions JSW Cement for stronger growth in the highly competitive construction materials sector which continues to see steady demand across the country.

According to the company leadership the expansion will be achieved through a combination of new facilities and upgrades at existing locations. JSW Cement plans to set up new units in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh that together will contribute an additional six million tonnes of capacity. These new projects will begin construction in 2027 with commercial production targeted for 2029. The remaining expansion will come from strengthening operations at the company’s existing plants in Dolvi in Maharashtra Vijayanagar in Karnataka and Talwandi Sabo in Punjab.

This major investment comes at a time when infrastructure development and real estate activity continue to rise across India. With growing demand for cement from housing road construction and industrial projects JSW Cement aims to position itself as one of the key suppliers meeting national requirements. The company expects to reach 25 million tonnes of capacity by the end of the current fiscal year as the first phase of its expansion progresses.

In addition to its cement business the JSW Group is also strengthening its presence in the defence and aerospace sector. A separate investment of ₹1200 crore has been announced to set up a V BAT drone manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. The site will have the capacity to produce up to three hundred drones annually with export commitments already in place. This facility will support India’s goal of increasing domestic drone manufacturing and improving local technological capabilities.

With strong investment plans across core and emerging sectors JSW Group continues to build its long term growth strategy while contributing to India’s industrial advancement.
