JCB India Unveils 52-Tonne Excavator and New Machine Range at Excon 2025

JCB India made a strong statement at Excon 2025 by unveiling more than ten new machines, reinforcing its position as a key force in India’s construction equipment sector. The centrepiece of the showcase was the 52 tonne excavator, the largest excavator ever manufactured by JCB in India, designed for both domestic deployment and global export markets.

The new product line reflects JCB India’s sharp focus on evolving infrastructure requirements across highways, mining, urban development and large scale industrial projects. Alongside the flagship excavator, the company introduced upgraded backhoe loaders, a new range of compact excavators between two and five tonnes, and several technology led solutions aimed at improving productivity on project sites.

Speaking at the event, Deepak Shetty, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of JCB India, said the company currently exports to more than 135 countries from its Indian manufacturing base. He noted that Excon provides a valuable platform to engage with customers from South Asia, Africa and South East Asia, while demonstrating how JCB’s latest machines align with both global standards and India’s infrastructure ambitions.

Customer centric engineering remains at the heart of JCB’s product strategy. Each new machine is developed with a clear emphasis on lower cost of ownership, higher fuel efficiency, improved uptime, and enhanced operator safety and comfort. These factors, the company believes, directly translate into higher productivity and long term value for contractors.

Sustainability continues to shape JCB’s innovation roadmap. The company highlighted its pioneering hydrogen engine technology, first demonstrated in 2023, which delivers diesel equivalent performance with zero carbon emissions. In India alone, JCB’s technological progress over the past fifteen years has resulted in a forty five percent improvement in fuel efficiency, significantly reducing operating costs and environmental impact.

Beyond machines, JCB India showcased its expanding digital ecosystem. The launch of a Parts Online portal aims to simplify access to genuine spares, while next generation telematics and an Operator App are designed to improve machine health visibility and reduce downtime. With a nationwide dealer and service network, JCB reaffirmed its long term commitment to supporting India’s infrastructure growth across projects nationwide for stakeholders.
