Godrej Group to Invest Rs 150 Crore in 40-Acre Hyderabad Dairy Plant Expansion

The Godrej Group has unveiled plans to expand the capacity of its dairy processing operations in Hyderabad with an investment of around Rs 150 crore, reinforcing its long-term commitment to India’s agri and food value chain. The proposed expansion will be developed on a 40-acre site and will primarily focus on processing value-added dairy products aimed at meeting rising consumer demand for branded and differentiated offerings.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, during a meeting between Nadir Godrej, Director of Godrej Industries, and Telangana Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu along with Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. The discussions highlighted Godrej’s plans to deepen its manufacturing presence in Telangana while leveraging technology and innovation across its agri and food businesses.

According to officials, the new dairy facility is expected to create more than 300 direct employment opportunities, in addition to substantial indirect jobs across logistics, procurement, cold chain, packaging and agriculture-linked services. The project is also expected to provide improved market access for dairy farmers and strengthen the regional supply ecosystem.

During the interaction, the Telangana government welcomed the proposed investment, noting that it aligns with the state’s vision of attracting large-scale food processing and agri-based industries. Minister Sridhar Babu said such projects add value not only to the company but also to the state’s economy by generating employment, improving farmer incomes and boosting industrial growth.

The discussions also covered the potential use of artificial intelligence in oil palm agriculture and Godrej’s future infrastructure plans in residential and industrial zones. Godrej Agrovet has earlier announced a Rs 300 crore Integrated Oil Palm Complex in Khammam district, underlining the group’s expanding footprint in Telangana’s agri sector.

With rising demand for processed and value-added dairy products across urban and semi-urban markets, the Hyderabad expansion is expected to strengthen Godrej’s competitive position while supporting the state’s broader industrial and agri development goals.
