Chennai-based real estate developer G Square Group has unveiled a massive ₹1,000-crore township project in Coimbatore, following its acquisition of the 714-acre Kovai Hills project from Rakindo. The township, now rebranded as G Square Seven Hills, is one of the largest private real estate developments in the region.

The project marks a significant boost to Coimbatore’s evolving urban landscape, coming on the heels of other major developments, such as Phoenix Mills’ subsidiary Astrea acquiring 9.03 acres for retail, L&T’s planned world-class IT park, and Capgemini’s expansion, which is expected to create over 1,500 jobs at the Elcot SEZ.

Phase 1 of G Square Seven Hills spans 406 acres and features 3,127 DTCP and RERA-approved premium plots. The remaining 308 acres will be developed through joint ventures, targeting villa and apartment projects, IT parks, commercial leasing spaces, business parks, malls, and multiplexes.

Situated in Kovaipudur near Madukkarai, the project lies along the picturesque Western Ghats near Palakkad Gap. It borders prime neighborhoods such as Perur, Chettipalayam, Sundakkamuthur, and Theethipalayam. With a naturally elevated terrain and proximity to reserve forests, the township offers a cooler microclimate and sweeping views of Coimbatore an attractive proposition for early investors.

“We are excited to launch the Seven Hills project, which reflects our vision of building high-quality, ready-to-build plots in growth corridors,” said Bala Ramajeyam, Managing Director of G Square Group. “We see strong potential in Coimbatore’s real estate market and are open to collaborating with large JV partners for future residential and commercial developments.”

The place is also viewed as a spiritual tourism hub, with wellness tourists traveling to Isha Yoga Centre, and pilgrims visiting Guruvayoor and Sabarimala. Its proximity to the Bangalore-Kochi industrial corridor gives it the added fillip for investment.

The project constitutes G Square’s growing presence in the real estate space in South India and augments the larger growth of Coimbatore as a high-demand residential and investment hub.
