The Employees State Insurance Corporation has invited bids for project management consultancy services for a major healthcare infrastructure project in Belagavi, Karnataka. The proposed development is part of ESIC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen medical infrastructure and improve access to quality healthcare services for insured workers and their families.

The project involves the demolition of an existing 50-bed hospital building along with staff quarters, making way for the construction of a modern 100-bed hospital facility. In addition to the hospital, the plan also includes the development of new staff housing, ensuring better residential infrastructure for medical and support personnel.

With an estimated project cost of ₹152.20 crore, the development is expected to significantly enhance healthcare capacity in the region. The selected consultant will be responsible for end-to-end project management, including architectural and engineering design, construction supervision and coordination of execution activities.

The scope of work also emphasises strict adherence to regulatory and quality standards. The project must comply with Medical Council of India guidelines, ESIC norms, National Building Code provisions, CPWD standards and Indian Public Health Standards. The new infrastructure will be developed as RCC framed structures with a focus on durability, safety and seismic resilience, in line with BIS codes.

The timeline for completion of the project has been set at 30 months, reflecting the scale and complexity of the development. Authorities expect that the upgraded facility will not only improve healthcare delivery but also support long-term urban and social infrastructure growth in Belagavi.

The last date for submission of bids has been fixed as March 23, 2026. Industry participants view this tender as a significant opportunity for consultancy firms specialising in healthcare infrastructure projects.

As government-backed healthcare investments continue to rise across India, projects like this underline the growing focus on expanding institutional capacity and improving service quality through modern infrastructure.
