Tamil Nadu State Environment Impact Assessment Authority finally accorded environmental clearance to Tidel Parks at Madurai and Trichy, thereby green-flagging the ambitious infrastructure projects. Tenders have already been floated in response to clearances received and officials from TIDEL Park Limited confirmed that foundation stones would be laid in a month.

The Madurai Tidel Park will be set up on 9.97-acre land near Mattuthavani bus stand. The total constructed area of the facility will come to 567,000 sq ft. With a budgeted value of ₹2.89 billion, this facility comprises a ground floor and 12 other floors comprising plug-and-play workspaces along with high-speed internet, conference halls, and spaces for recreation. It will create around 5,500 direct jobs and will significantly raise the economic and technological landscape of Madurai.

The Trichy Tidel Park is developed adjacent to the Panjappur integrated bus terminus on the Trichy- Madurai high road. It is an 11-acre project and an area of total built-up to be about 550,000 sq. ft while its total price is estimated to be approx. ₹ 2.9 billion. It will be especially suited for IT and IT-enabled services companies and has all modern infrastructures with around 5,000 job opportunities. Thus, it further endorses the name of Trichy as an industrial city.

The TIDEL Park Limited, a Tamil Nadu government initiative, submitted the proposals for both parks in December 2024. After scrutiny, SEIAA approved it, and this marked the state’s seriousness toward sustainable infrastructure. A senior TIDEL Park official stated that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is likely to inaugurate the projects, and the construction work would start within two months.

These parks form a part of the broader initiatives that Tamil Nadu undertakes to strengthen its IT ecosystem and for balanced regional development. They are likely to play a key role in southern Tamil Nadu’s investment attraction, employment generation, and economic growth once completed.
