In a move to scale its production capacity, Berger Paints, India’s second-largest paint manufacturer, has sanctioned a massive ₹2,000 crore expenditure over the next three years. The flagship factory of the scheme will be its new, largest factory in Odisha, which would drive its presence in the highly competitive paints segment in the form of brownfield and greenfield initiatives. Production from the ₹1,200 crore factory is expected to commence by 2027, while the ₹250 crore expansion of its Hindupur factory in the state of Andhra Pradesh, which will focus on solvent-based paints, is already in progress and will be operational by the end of the current fiscal year.

Recently, apart from the above schemes, Berger Paints has also announced setting up a new factory at Panagarh, West Bengal with an investment of ₹600 crore. Production at the new factory is expected to start in 2026. Berger Paints is also aiming to offer an edge in market reach and strengthen leadership within the business through the acquisition of companies.

“With these expansion plans, we are aiming to double our revenue to ₹ 20,000 crore by 2030,” said Berger Paints’ Managing Director and CEO Abhijit Roy. While commissioning its new head office in Kolkata, Berger Paints’ Chairman Rishma Kaur also reiterated the company’s commitment to sustainable growth and innovation.

Berger Paints has a long-term strategy to improve its production capacity and operational efficiency and maintain leadership in India’s paints industry through these investments.
