Amaravati’s transformation into a modern capital city is picking up pace as the Andhra Pradesh government pushes to complete major housing projects for officials and staff. Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana confirmed that multiple residential projects are in their final stages, with flooring, electrical, and plumbing works nearing completion.
Among the key developments, NCC is building 12 towers across 10.5 acres for MLAs and MLCs. These towers, comprising 288 spacious units of 3,500 square feet each, are nearly complete. Six towers meant for All India Services officers offering 144 units are also progressing rapidly.
KMV Projects is developing 115 bungalows on 33.5 acres for Principal Secretaries and Secretariat staff, while BSR Infra is constructing 71 high-end bungalows for ministers and judges over 50 acres. On the staff housing front, L&T is executing a large-scale project of 21 towers with 1,968 units for Non-Gazetted Officers spread across 26.5 acres. Simultaneously, SPCL is working on 1,440 units for Gazetted Officers and Group-D employees on a 19-acre site, with interior works like painting and waterproofing currently underway.
In addition to government housing, the APCRDA is pushing forward with the HappyNest project—a residential initiative for the general public, further broadening the scope of urban development.
These fast-tracked efforts, led by top infrastructure companies, mark a significant milestone in the long-stalled Amaravati capital development plan. With large-scale housing projects now nearing completion, the state aims to establish a fully functioning administrative hub in Amaravati, signaling renewed political and developmental commitment.
