EcoBox Industrial Parks Invests ₹1,008 Crore in Visakhapatnam Logistics Park, Eyes 5,000 Jobs

EcoBox Industrial Parks has laid the foundation stone for a ₹1,008 crore industrial and logistics park in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, marking a major addition to the region’s industrial infrastructure. The project is expected to generate nearly 5,000 jobs and will be developed in phases across a planned built-up area of 19.45 lakh sq ft.

The foundation stone was laid by EcoBox Industrial Parks CEO Ashish Shah on October 7, 2026. The development will include warehouses, light manufacturing facilities, data centre support infrastructure and administrative blocks, catering to a range of industrial and logistics requirements.

The project is also linked to Google’s planned $15 billion artificial intelligence hub in Visakhapatnam. Google has selected EcoBox as its preferred logistics infrastructure partner and holds the first right to acquire the facilities after completion. The arrangement places the industrial park within the wider infrastructure ecosystem expected to support the technology company’s proposed investment in the region.

Google’s planned development is expected to involve around 1 GW of data centre capacity across Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli, with AdaniConneX and Nxtra by Airtel among the partners associated with the project. The scale of the proposed data centre infrastructure is expected to increase demand for supporting facilities, including logistics, warehousing and related industrial services.

The EcoBox project also expands the company’s presence in India. Its existing industrial park locations include Ranjangaon, Sri City, Chennai, Bhiwandi, Bengaluru and Kolkata. The Visakhapatnam development adds another location to this network as Andhra Pradesh seeks to strengthen its position as a destination for industrial and technology-related investments.

The foundation ceremony was attended by Andhra Pradesh Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, and state Industries and Commerce Secretary N. Yuvaraj, along with A.S. Dinesh Kumar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC).

With phased development planned, the project will add industrial space while supporting logistics requirements associated with the region’s expanding investment pipeline. Its progress will depend on the execution of the planned facilities and the development of the wider industrial and data centre ecosystem around Visakhapatnam.
