Interarch Building Solutions to Invest ₹300 Crore in Andhra Pradesh Manufacturing Expansion

Noida-based Interarch Building Solutions Limited is planning to invest around ₹300 crore over the next couple of years to expand its manufacturing capabilities at Athivaram Industrial Park in Ojili mandal, SPSR Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh.

The company has already inaugurated a new heavy structural steel manufacturing facility at the industrial park. The facility has an initial production capacity of 25,000 metric tonnes per annum and has been developed on 20 acres.

Speaking to The Hindu, Interarch Building Solutions Managing Director Arvind Nanda said around ₹220 crore will be invested in the new facility to increase its manufacturing capacity to 50,000 metric tonnes per annum over the next two-and-a-half years.

The company is also planning a separate investment of ₹80 crore following a recently signed joint venture with a Canadian company. The investment will support the company’s capabilities in designing and manufacturing complex steel structures for export markets.

New manufacturing capacity

The Athivaram facility has been established to cater to the growing requirement for heavy and high-performance structural steel, particularly for projects where scale, precision and engineering capabilities are important.

The new plant is equipped with specialised machinery sourced from technology providers in Europe. According to the company, the equipment will support high-precision fabrication and production of complex heavy structural members.

The facility is also expected to serve customers across southern and western India. Its location provides access to industrial clusters, ports and major transportation networks, which could support the movement of raw materials and finished structures to project sites.

Employment opportunities

Interarch currently employs around 450 people at its existing 10-acre pre-engineered steel building facility at Athivaram.

Once all three phases of the new facility are completed, the overall operation is expected to employ around 1,000 people. The company said the specialised nature of the work requires trained manpower and that it plans to undertake skill development initiatives under its corporate social responsibility programmes to help create employment opportunities for local youth.

Andhra Pradesh expansion

Nanda said Andhra Pradesh is an important market for the company, with growing activity in areas such as data centres and capital infrastructure.

The phased ₹300 crore investment will expand Interarch’s manufacturing presence in the state while adding capacity for heavy structural steel and complex engineering requirements. The planned expansion will also strengthen the company’s manufacturing base for projects across southern and western India.
