Crompton Greaves Plans ₹375 Crore Manufacturing Plant Near Hyderabad

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd is planning a major greenfield manufacturing facility in Telangana with an estimated investment of around ₹375 crore, adding to the state’s growing consumer electrical and appliance manufacturing ecosystem.

The proposed facility will come up at E-City in Maheshwaram, near Hyderabad International Airport. The Telangana government has allotted approximately 50 acres for the project.

The manufacturing plant is expected to become one of the company’s major production facilities, with a planned annual capacity of around 1.4 crore units once fully operational. The project will be developed in phases, with the initial focus on energy-efficient electrical products.

The first phase is expected to manufacture induction and energy-efficient BLDC ceiling fans, along with table, wall and pedestal fans. Crompton plans to broaden the facility’s product portfolio in subsequent phases by adding pumps and mixer grinders.

The company also proposes to establish a centralised motor plant as part of the later development.

The Hyderabad project is expected to generate around 3,500 direct employment opportunities. This includes approximately 500 managerial positions and around 3,000 semi-skilled jobs, providing a significant employment opportunity in the Maheshwaram region.

Groundbreaking for the project is expected around Vijayadashmi, while commercial operations are targeted to begin next year.

The investment marks an expansion of Crompton’s domestic manufacturing footprint. The company had earlier indicated plans to invest approximately ₹350 crore over the next two to three years in a next-generation greenfield manufacturing location with integrated warehousing.

Maheshwaram’s location near Hyderabad International Airport is expected to support the project’s logistics requirements while providing access to Telangana’s established industrial ecosystem.

With its planned fan, pump and mixer grinder manufacturing capabilities, the facility could add substantial production capacity to Crompton’s operations while strengthening Telangana’s position as a destination for large-scale consumer electrical manufacturing.
