Sundaram Home Finance is stepping up its expansion in Andhra Pradesh, targeting ₹150 crore in Emerging Business (EB) disbursements during the 2026-27 financial year as it looks to deepen its presence in smaller towns and the affordable housing segment.

The company disbursed around ₹50 crore through its EB business in Andhra Pradesh during the previous financial year. The new target represents a threefold increase as Sundaram Home Finance seeks to tap rising housing finance opportunities outside the state’s larger urban centres.

As part of the expansion, the housing finance company plans to double its EB branch network in Andhra Pradesh from around 10 branches currently to 20 during FY27. Most of the new branches are expected to come up in smaller towns, where the company sees potential linked to local economic activity, employment growth and housing demand.

Sundaram Home Finance has already opened a new branch in Chittoor as an initial step in the expansion. The company also plans to recruit around 60 employees in Andhra Pradesh to support the growth of its EB operations.

D. Lakshminarayanan, Managing Director of Sundaram Home Finance, said the company had seen consistent growth across its Andhra Pradesh branches during the first year of its EB operations. He also pointed to the Andhra Pradesh government’s focus on industrial development in smaller towns as a potential driver for employment and housing demand.

The company’s expansion is focused on Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns, where growing economic activity could create demand for affordable housing and related financial products. Sundaram Home Finance offers home loans, plot loans, home improvement and extension loans, affordable housing finance, loans against property and small-ticket loans for entrepreneurs.

The Andhra Pradesh expansion comes alongside the company’s wider southern India network of more than 100 EB branches.

At the company level, Sundaram Home Finance reported a net profit of ₹85 crore in the first quarter of FY27, with disbursements of ₹1,665 crore. Its assets under management grew 11% during the quarter to ₹20,325 crore as of June 30, 2026.

The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sundaram Finance, is looking to use its expanding branch network to increase access to housing finance as smaller towns across Andhra Pradesh develop new employment and investment opportunities.
