Shyam Steel Group has marked a major milestone in its international expansion by inaugurating its first overseas manufacturing facility at the Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The new plant, established through its subsidiary Shyam Middle East FZC, has been developed with an initial investment of AED 60 million and represents the company’s first manufacturing investment outside India.
The facility focuses on non-ferrous metals recycling and the production of aluminium and copper alloys, strengthening the company’s position in the advanced metals manufacturing sector. Strategically located in one of the Middle East’s leading industrial hubs, the plant is expected to serve customers across the GCC, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe.
The manufacturing unit has an installed annual production capacity of 24,000 tonnes of aluminium alloys and 6,000 tonnes of copper alloys. It incorporates advanced recycling technologies, quality assurance laboratories and modern manufacturing systems designed to improve operational efficiency while supporting sustainable industrial practices and circular economy initiatives.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, along with Siddharth Beriwal, Director of Shyam Middle East FZC, and senior officials. During the visit, company executives presented their long-term expansion strategy, which includes phased investments of AED 150 million to expand manufacturing capacity, diversify products and strengthen the company’s global competitiveness.
Future expansion plans include the production of special alloy steel and rare earth metals, allowing the company to enter high-value manufacturing segments while increasing exports to international markets.
The expansion is also expected to generate significant employment opportunities. The company plans to double its direct workforce to nearly 100 employees while creating additional indirect jobs through future investments.
The Sharjah facility highlights Shyam Steel Group’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing, advanced recycling technologies and international growth. By choosing Hamriyah Free Zone as its global manufacturing base, the company aims to strengthen its presence in key international markets while supporting environmentally responsible metal production. The investment also reflects the growing confidence of Indian manufacturers in expanding their footprint across global industrial markets through technology-driven and value-added manufacturing facilities.
