JSW One Platforms has taken a significant step towards strengthening its presence in India’s home construction ecosystem by acquiring BuildNext Construction Solutions, a proptech startup backed by Pidilite Ventures. The acquisition comes at a time when the company is preparing for its initial public offering and looking to deepen its footprint in a highly fragmented yet rapidly evolving market.
The deal has been structured as a share swap, with Pidilite Ventures transferring its entire stake in BuildNext to JSW One. However, Pidilite Ventures will continue to support the business by investing up to ₹22 crore through compulsorily convertible preference shares. This continued backing reflects strong confidence in BuildNext’s capabilities and future growth potential.
With this acquisition, JSW One aims to enhance its existing platform, JSW One Homes, by integrating BuildNext’s strengths in home design, project execution and management. The move is expected to create a seamless and end-to-end solution for individual home builders, contractors and architects, covering everything from material procurement to final project delivery.
India’s home construction sector has long been characterised by fragmentation, lack of transparency and coordination challenges. Customers often face delays, cost overruns and quality concerns due to the absence of organised solutions. JSW One is positioning itself to address these issues through a technology-driven platform that brings together all stakeholders under one ecosystem.
BuildNext, founded in 2015 and headquartered in Kochi, has built a strong reputation for offering tech-enabled home construction and interior design services. Its network of virtual reality-enabled experience centres allows customers to visualise their homes before construction begins, improving decision-making and overall satisfaction.
Industry experts believe this acquisition could unlock long-term value by combining BuildNext’s design and execution expertise with JSW One’s supply chain strength and distribution network. As demand for organised and end-to-end home construction solutions grows, this integration is expected to deliver a more predictable, efficient and customer-centric building experience.
