PG Technoplast Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of PG Electroplast Ltd, has received government approval to establish a large-scale manufacturing unit in Sri City, Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh. The project, with a revised investment of ₹1,305 crore, marks a significant step in strengthening South India’s position as a growing hub for consumer durable manufacturing.
The company had earlier announced its plan to develop an integrated manufacturing campus on a 50-acre land parcel in Sri City. With approvals now in place and land allocated, the project is set to move into the execution phase, reinforcing investor confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem.
The facility will focus on manufacturing key home appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines. This integrated approach is expected to create strong backward and forward linkages across the supply chain, including components manufacturing, logistics, and allied services. The project is also aligned with India’s broader push towards domestic manufacturing and import substitution in the appliances segment.
One of the key highlights of the development is its employment potential. The project is expected to generate over 2,900 jobs, contributing significantly to regional economic growth and skill development. It also enhances the attractiveness of Sri City as a preferred destination for large-scale industrial investments, given its strategic location and well-developed infrastructure.
The initial phase of the project is expected to include a high-capacity refrigerator manufacturing unit, with commercial production targeted in the coming years. Over time, the facility will scale up to include multiple product lines, supporting both domestic demand and export opportunities.
With this investment, PG Technoplast joins a growing list of companies expanding their footprint in South India. The project is likely to have a positive impact on the real estate and industrial infrastructure sectors in and around Sri City, further accelerating the region’s transformation into a key manufacturing corridor.
