Dellner Bubenzer Begins Construction of Major Manufacturing Facility Near Chennai

Swedish industrial solutions provider Dellner Bubenzer has commenced construction of a new world class manufacturing facility at Kuthambakkam near Chennai, marking a significant expansion of its presence in Tamil Nadu. The upcoming unit will be one of the company’s largest facilities outside Europe and reflects growing global confidence in the state’s industrial ecosystem.

The project follows a memorandum of understanding signed with the Government of Tamil Nadu during the Chief Minister’s visit to Düsseldorf in September 2025. Notably, the transition from commitment to on ground construction has been achieved within six months, underscoring the speed of execution and investor friendly environment offered by the state.

The new facility will expand the company’s existing operations in Chennai and is expected to strengthen its manufacturing and supply capabilities across key sectors. Two new legal entities will operate from the site, focusing on supplying original equipment manufacturer products to the railways, defence, and other core industrial segments. This move is expected to enhance localization, reduce lead times, and improve service responsiveness for Indian and global customers.

Tamil Nadu has steadily emerged as one of India’s leading destinations for advanced manufacturing, supported by robust infrastructure, skilled manpower, and proactive policy support. The addition of this large scale production unit further reinforces the region’s appeal to global engineering and technology firms seeking long term growth opportunities in India.
