Rashmi Group, one of India’s leading industrial conglomerates with a strong presence in ductile iron pipes and infrastructure-related manufacturing, has unveiled plans to set up a large-scale steel production facility in Telangana with an investment of ₹12,500 crore. The proposed steel plant is expected to significantly strengthen the state’s manufacturing ecosystem while creating substantial employment opportunities.
According to the announcement, the upcoming steel plant is likely to generate up to 12,000 direct and indirect jobs, providing a major boost to local employment and ancillary industries. The investment proposal was formalised through a memorandum of understanding signed with the Telangana Rising delegation led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos. Rashmi Group promoter Sajjan Kumar Patwari and Director Sanjib Kumar Patwari reaffirmed the company’s commitment to establishing the steel project in the state.
Welcoming the investment, the Telangana government said the project aligns with its long-term strategy to position the state as a preferred destination for large-scale manufacturing and heavy industries, including steel. The state has assured full support to the project, including facilitation of statutory approvals and coal supply linkages, to ensure timely execution of the plant.
In a parallel development, global brewing major AB InBev announced plans to expand its existing facility in Telangana. The expansion is expected to create additional revenue streams and strengthen the company’s operational footprint in the state. AB InBev currently employs around 600 people across its two plants in Telangana and operates in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Industry observers say the twin announcements underline Telangana’s growing attractiveness for both core manufacturing sectors such as steel and consumer-driven industries. With focused policy support, infrastructure readiness and proactive government engagement, the state continues to draw large domestic and global investments, reinforcing its reputation as one of India’s fastest-growing industrial destinations.
