Telangana Unveils Rs 60,799 Crore Road Projects to Boost Connectivity, Investment, and Employment

The Telangana government, with strong support from the Central government, has announced an ambitious road infrastructure development plan worth over Rs 60,799 crore. The massive initiative aims to transform Telangana’s connectivity landscape, attract global investments, and generate large-scale employment opportunities for the state’s youth.

According to Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the government is prioritizing both urban and rural road development to create a seamless transportation network across the state. Among the flagship projects, the Regional Ring Road (RRR) stands out with an estimated cost of Rs 36,000 crore. The six-lane expressway will encircle Telangana’s districts, offering faster mobility, improving logistics, and boosting industrial growth.

Another key highlight is the eight-laning of the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway, a project valued at Rs 10,400 crore. This expansion will ease congestion on one of South India’s busiest routes, enhancing connectivity between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, a 52-kilometre elevated corridor from Mannanur to Srisailam, costing around Rs 8,000 crore, is planned to provide safer and quicker access to the popular pilgrimage destination.

To further strengthen regional connectivity, the state is developing a greenfield highway linking Bharat Future City to Rajahmundry Port, estimated at Rs 20,000 crore. This strategic link will facilitate cargo movement, supporting the logistics and manufacturing ecosystem in Telangana.

Beyond major corridors, the government has also allocated Rs 11,000 crore to upgrade rural, mandal, and district-level roads, ensuring balanced development across all regions.

Minister Reddy emphasized that these projects are not just about improving roads—they represent Telangana’s vision of becoming a global investment hub. Enhanced road infrastructure will attract multinational companies, spur industrial expansion, and create employment opportunities for lakhs of people.

By integrating state and central funding, the Telangana government aims to redefine connectivity, strengthen trade routes, and set the foundation for long-term economic growth across sectors.
