In a bid to elevate Chennai into the ranks of the world’s top 100 most livable cities, CREDAI-Chennai has launched the Super Chennai initiative. The actual mission of this initiative is to position Chennai among the top 100 livable cities worldwide. With the digital-first approach, SUPER CHENNAI builds a model where civic engagement, real-time updates, and cultural stories converge on a single online platform initiated by CREDAI-Chennai. Launched by CREDAI-Chennai. The site, www.superchennai.com, was officially launched last Thursday along with the announcement of this campaign.

It is an initiative of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI), which thinks “civic” and encourages the participation of thoughts and contributions from civic thinkers, entrepreneurs, technologists, and artists in building a case for rebranding Chennai as a metropolitan, futuristic city. We need to understand that this is not merely a tech hub but a digital mirror on the lives of this city’s people, including their aspirations and day-to-day happenings.

“This isn’t a platform merely online or a technology space; it is an ode to our city- its very soul, its unique conflicts, and its potential,” says Ranjeeth D Rathod, Managing Director, Super Chennai. “We want to put Chennai among the top 100 livable cities in the world; as of now, no Indian city is there.”

The journey started sometime earlier in the year when Chief Minister MK Stalin unveiled the Super Chennai logo at the FAIRPRO 2025 real estate expo. The launch of the superchennai.com website marks the next milestone in making this vision into reality.

In a major technological partnership, Super Chennai has now been associated with Pointcast, based out of Silicon Valley; hence, Chennai becomes the first Pointcast-enabled city in the world. The platform sends hyperlocal real-time updates-from civic alerts to cultural happenings the user’s mobile phone.

It has introduced a new recognition called Icon of the Month to honor local icons, which will, for the first time, be awarded to CK Kumaravel, Co-Founder of Naturals Salon, for his entrepreneurship and community development.

Super Chennai wants residents to participate in the process and be part of the narrative that tells the transformation of the city.
