Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML), a prominent public sector enterprise in heavy equipment manufacturing, has secured a ₹246.78 crore contract from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). This order entails the delivery of 48 BH60M rear dump trucks, accompanied by spares and consumables, reinforcing BEML’s critical role in India’s mining sector.

Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director of BEML, emphasized the strategic importance of the deal. “This order strengthens our resolve to contribute to India’s growth by supporting critical sectors like mining with sustainable and advanced technologies, aligning with the nation’s vision of self-reliance and global leadership in industrial innovation,” Roy stated.

The agreement is a significant step in bolstering domestic mining infrastructure, reflecting BEML’s focus on sustainable and innovative solutions for industrial growth. The BH60M rear dump trucks, known for their durability and efficiency, will enhance operational capabilities for CCL, a key player in India’s coal mining industry.

This development comes on the heels of BEML’s ₹866.87 crore contract with the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai. That project involves the design, manufacturing, and commissioning of two high-speed trains, each comprising eight cars, and showcases BEML’s expertise in advanced rail solutions.

BEML’s recent successes underline its expanding role in driving technological progress across India’s mining and transportation sectors. With a growing order book, the company continues to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions in line with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

These projects reaffirm BEML’s position as a vital contributor to the nation’s industrial and economic growth, supporting the transformation of critical infrastructure sectors.
