Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has strengthened its dedication to safety and sustainability in the demolition industry with the delivery of its latest ultra-high reach (UHR) demolition machine, the EC380DL UHR, to United Saw Services (USS). The event took place in Jeedimetla, Hyderabad, which has been a testimony for both organisations contributing towards demolition technology in India.
The EC380DL UHR is Volvo CE’s tallest and most advanced high-reach demolition excavator, engineered for demanding projects that require a focus on precision, stability, and improved operator safety. The most advanced machine with a CR-20 concrete crusher and an area of 23.0 m. Its innovative features greatly minimize dust, noise, and vibrations, allowing for a safer and more precise demolition operation. In this case, the machine will be used to carry out the demolition of a 50,000 square foot, three-story building that was damaged by fire in a dense urban environment, designed to demonstrate the essential need for precision and reliability in urban demolition work.
The launch of the EC380DL UHR High-Reach Demolition Excavator is a significant step in that direction,” said Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director, Volvo CE India. We are excited to bring this new high-reach machine to Hyderabad after we were successful in Chennai last year. It offers improved control, a reduced impact on the environment and more precision in tough demolition sites.”
Dignitaries from the industry such as Sanu George, Market Area Head South and West, Volvo CE India and S. N. Vinod Kumar of United Saw Services also attended the event. Prominent attendees included Mohan Ramanathan, the founder chairman of the Indian Demolition Association (IDA), and structural consultant Zaki Ahamed.
“The high-reach demolition excavators have been adopted in the industry. “In urban environments, saving time is of the essence, and so, higher efficiency, safety and productivity are a must, and this is precisely what Volvo’s EC380DL UHR is all about,” S. N. Vinod Kumar of USS also lauded the new addition, describing it as a “game-changer for controlled demolition in India” for its advanced technology and safety features.
