
Japan’s Tsugami Precision has expanded its Indian manufacturing footprint with the inauguration of a new precision CNC facility in Tamil Nadu’s SIPCOT Vallam Vadagal near Sriperumbudur. The investment of three hundred crore rupees reflects the company’s growing confidence in the state’s strong industrial ecosystem and its rising importance as a hub for global precision engineering.
The newly opened plant spans three lakh square feet within a fifteen acre campus. It has been designed to support advanced CNC machining capabilities and a wide range of high precision engineering applications. With this expansion Tsugami aims to meet the increasing demand from key sectors including automotive aerospace medical devices electronics and general engineering. The facility also includes an advanced assembly line and a dedicated foundry unit that will support the production of high precision castings for CNC equipment.
The project is expected to generate close to one thousand employment opportunities including seven hundred direct jobs and three hundred indirect jobs. The company stated that the new workforce will be largely composed of skilled professionals trained in high precision machining technology which is crucial for India’s transition toward advanced manufacturing.
Tamil Nadu has consistently positioned itself as a preferred investment destination for global engineering companies. Tsugami’s decision to expand further in the state aligns with its strong industrial base reliable infrastructure port connectivity and availability of skilled talent. The new facility is expected to improve production efficiencies reduce import dependence and expand Tsugami’s ability to serve both domestic and international markets.
