The long-awaited Trichy TIDEL Park, a ₹415 crore IT infrastructure project by TIDEL Park Limited, is expected to start its long-awaited foundation stone at Panjapur by January-end. TIDEL Park Limited is a joint venture between the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) and the Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT), which has paid ₹12.8 crore to the Trichy Corporation for land preparation and relocating two underground drainage (UGD) pipelines.

Phase I is to comprise a 5.5 lakh sq. ft. facility with ground plus six floors, extending across 14.1 acres on the Trichy-Madurai NH and opposite the proposed integrated bus terminus (IBT), with the project costing around ₹415 crore, which is supporting employment opportunities for more than 5,000 people in this place.

Having paid for major infrastructure upgrades, Trichy Corporation, too, is busy shifting from within the site 1,730 meters of sewage pipelines made of RCC. This relocation will clear the path for the construction work to proceed as planned.

“Around 1,730-meter-long sewage pipelines crossing the TIDEL site will be shifted shortly, with the entire cost already paid by TIDEL in December 2024,” said a Trichy Corporation official.

Additionally, the old sewage treatment plant (STP) and anaerobic ponds near the site are scheduled to be dismantled by 2026. This is in tandem with the commissioning of a new 100 MLD modern STP under construction in Panjapur, ensuring sustainable development for the growing urban hub.

With its strategic location near major infrastructure projects and its promise of job creation, the Trichy TIDEL Park is poised to become a key driver of the region’s IT and economic growth.
