The construction of the TIDEL Park at Panjapur in Tiruchi is steadily gathering pace and is emerging as one of the most anticipated infrastructure developments in Tamil Nadu. Located next to the Integrated Bus Terminus on the Tiruchi to Madurai Highway, the upcoming project is designed to significantly boost the city’s technology and employment ecosystem.
The park is being developed as a joint initiative of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation and the Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu. The project is estimated at nearly four hundred and three crore rupees after additional facilities were incorporated into the original plan. The work officially began in February following a virtual inauguration by Chief Minister M K Stalin. Since then, construction activities have moved forward in a planned and structured manner.
Spread across more than fourteen acres, the project includes a built up area of five lakh and fifty eight thousand square feet. The design features a ground floor and six additional floors planned to accommodate a wide range of technology based companies. It aims to host Information Technology, Information Technology Enabled Services, Business Process Outsourcing firms and emerging startups that require modern office infrastructure.
Before the main structural work began, considerable time was invested in strengthening the soil at the site. Nearly two months were dedicated exclusively to this stage to ensure a safe and durable foundation. The piling work was initiated soon after and has almost reached completion. With this progress, brick work has now started and is expected to advance swiftly.
During a recent inspection, Tiruchi Collector V Saravanan reviewed the on site developments and expressed satisfaction with the pace of work. He added that a few support related works by the Tiruchi Corporation and the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation would be completed soon to facilitate uninterrupted progress.
Once ready, the TIDEL Park is expected to accommodate nearly ten thousand professionals and provide world class amenities including conference facilities, a data centre, food courts and extensive parking areas. The project is set to play a major role in reshaping Tiruchi as a growing technology hub in Tamil Nadu.
