Nitin Gadkari Allocates ₹61.92 Crore for Road Projects in Tamil Nadu

Central Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced an amount of ₹61.92 crore in envelope benefit of CV. for Tamil Nadu under schemes of Central Road and Infrastructure Fund for road development activity in Tamil Nadu. The allocation is intended to promote connectivity and save travel time that would contribute to the regional economy.

The allocation for road upgrading along a total length of 21.31 kilometers. Widening of roads, construction of bridges, and upgrading drainage systems feature in the ambit of the fund.

An allocation of ₹3.14 crore for carrying out road works on NH-45 in Chengalpattu, ₹12.64 crore for widening the Tirupattur-Singarapet road, and ₹12.14 crore for widening the Tiruvannamalai-Thiyagadurgam Road figure in the major allocations.


Estimates of ₹16.50 crore for Kallakurichi District, for development along Thiyagadurgam-Sankarapuram Road, a vital grid in the area, while ₹16.50 crore, again, for widening the Puthanchanthai-Musiri Road in Namakkal District. The schemes will contribute immensely to regional connectivity, ensuring seamless transport of goods and services. The reductions in travel time are expected to increase productivity and enhance economic growth in the state.

Gadkari emphasized the government’s commitment to infrastructure development, highlighting the significance of modern and efficient road networks in the progress of Tamil Nadu. These would enhance mobility among residents and businesses and make travel safer.

The feed will form part of the larger nationwide program run by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways toward elevating the quality and reach of road infrastructure in states with high economic potential.

With works poised to start on these in a hurry, Tamil Nadu stands to receive a big boost in road transport infrastructure development, paving the way for speeding up social and economic development.
