The Ministry of Steel has announced a significant achievement in its ongoing efforts to improve administrative efficiency and governance. Under the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 5.0, the ministry has successfully met 96% of its public grievance redressal targets, marking a major step in streamlining processes and enhancing transparency.
Launched from October 2 to October 31, SCDPM 5.0 focuses on addressing pending matters linked to Members of Parliament (MPs), the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), VIPs, the Cabinet, and State Governments. It also includes cases registered on the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS). The campaign underscores the government’s commitment to timely grievance resolution and effective administrative reform.
As part of the initiative, the ministry cleared over 8,525 physical files and conducted 195 cleanliness drives against a target of 282. The disposal of scrap, e-waste, and redundant documents freed up approximately 9,851 square feet of office space, optimizing workspace usage and improving workflow efficiency. Several Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) under the ministry implemented innovative practices in record management and grievance resolution, setting benchmarks for other departments in efficiency and transparency.
The Ministry of Steel emphasized that these efforts align with the government’s broader goals of good governance and administrative reform. By combining digital tools, physical file management, and systematic grievance tracking, the ministry ensures that pending matters are resolved promptly while maintaining high standards of operational cleanliness and organization.
Officials noted that SCDPM 5.0 is not only about clearing backlogs but also about creating a culture of accountability and streamlined processes in public administration. With such initiatives, the ministry aims to enhance citizen satisfaction, improve workflow efficiency, and reinforce its commitment to transparent, accountable governance.
As India continues to focus on administrative efficiency and public service delivery, initiatives like SCDPM 5.0 demonstrate how structured campaigns, innovation, and diligent execution can drive tangible results in government operations.
