Chennai continues to strengthen its position as one of India’s leading IT hubs, with major infrastructure developments reshaping the city’s technology corridor. In the latest move, RMZ Group has announced plans to invest approximately ₹1,800 crore in a new large-scale IT park along the bustling Mount–Poonamallee Road, an emerging hotspot for corporate real estate.

According to industry sources, the proposed project will span nearly 3.6 million square feet, featuring three modern towers with ten floors each. Designed to meet global workplace standards, the new IT park will offer state-of-the-art office spaces to cater to the growing demand from multinational companies setting up operations in Chennai.

Once completed, the development is expected to create employment opportunities for close to 28,725 professionals, further reinforcing the city’s role as a magnet for talent in the information technology sector. The company has already submitted a proposal to the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) seeking necessary approvals for the ambitious project.

Mount–Poonamallee Road has been witnessing rapid growth in recent years, with several IT parks, commercial complexes, and residential projects transforming the stretch into a thriving business corridor. Improved connectivity, expanding infrastructure, and Chennai’s abundant skilled workforce are among the key reasons driving this surge in IT investments.

RMZ Group, which has already developed a successful IT park in the same locality near Porur, has received strong interest from corporates for its existing project. Building on this momentum, the company aims to establish the new development as a landmark business destination in Chennai.

Industry experts believe that this expansion will not only support the city’s thriving IT ecosystem but also contribute significantly to Tamil Nadu’s economy by attracting global investors and boosting job creation. With growing demand for premium office space, Chennai is poised to remain one of the top choices for IT and technology firms in India.

As the city gears up for another transformative project, Chennai’s Mount–Poonamallee Road is all set to emerge as a new growth corridor for the technology and real estate sectors.
