RINL Wins Gold Award at AP State Energy Conservation Awards 2024

“Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited has been awarded the `Gold Award’ at the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Awards 2024,” said an official release from the Ministry of Steel. The State Energy Conservation Mission of Andhra Pradesh rather recognizes it for its bulky energy-saving efforts introduced in the Iron and Steel sector.

The Gold Award was presented recently during the Energy Conservation Week valedictory celebrations in Vijayawada. RINL was commended for its commitment to efficient energy use by Sri K.Vijayanand, IAS, Special Chief Secretary (Energy) of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The award was received on behalf of RINL by Sri Uttam Brahma, GM (Energy, Environment & Utilities), and Sri VVVS Pulla Reddy, DGM, Energy Management Department at the event.

RINL earned various accolades for a string of energy-saving initiatives that it has implemented over the past three years. The efforts managed to recover waste energy and introduce other methodologies leading toward lower energy use for its production functions. Significant improvements have contributed to energy efficiency at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, which is one of the key players in the Indian steel industry.

Sri A.K. Saxena, Chairman and Managing Director (additional charge) of RINL congratulated the energy management and supporting departments of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant for their dedication and hard work in this extensive recognition. He praised the commitment towards excellence by the very team that has brought accolades for RINL and strengthened its position in leading a more sustainable industrial practice.

Once again, this is testimony to the commitment made by RINL to utilizing energy-efficient technology and practices in its work and toward a more sustainable future in the iron and steel industry.
