A meeting at ANS PRIDE Hotel tonight at 7.00 PM was called as a crossroad update for the PUdukkotai District Stone Quarry and Crusher Owners Association to address the issues the industry is facing and the increasing calls for price reductions in the sector. Many stone quarry and crusher owners from the district attended the gathering.

The meeting detailed the growing complications being experienced by the stone quarrying and crusher business in light of harsher new regulations. The new rules require the measurement of rocks using an E-way Pass and Transit Pass and through Drone Surveys every six months which is a huge compliance and cost burden. Association representatives stressed that the regulations have greatly complicated business operations.

Amidst the already accumulated pressure from the Tamil Nadu Government, the District Collector, Assistant Director of Highways, contractors and many other associations including the Haloblack Producers Association, the Pudukkottai Stone Quarry and Crusher Owners Association made a big decision. Despite the challenges of operation,(having said that,): The association stated that it was reducing the prices of some essential materials used in construction( this is to support the industry and meet the demand of the public)

This updated price list, first established on February 15, 2025, has been amended as of:

  • GSP / Wed Mix 195 (40mm): Before ₹4,000, now ₹3,400.
  • 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 + Dust: Before ₹4,000, now ₹3,000

In light of this, the association called on all parties to work together during this trying time, emphasizing that the decision to reduce prices was made to help relieve contractors and builders on their costs while also maintaining stability in the stone quarrying and crusher sector.

Industry stakeholders said the step would open up construction activities in the region with the new rates. The Pudukkottai Stone Quarry and Crusher Owners Association expressed its dedication to complying with rules while contributing to local industrial support.
