The first Tidel Park in Ooty is scheduled to come off in the Nilgiris district to develop the IT facilities of the area. This initiative, as per Tamil Nadu government facilitation, is a watershed moment, combining office space with recreation facilities, a blend of work and leisure in a healthy environment.

Tidel Parks have already been set up in many cities across Tamil Nadu, such as Coimbatore, Salem, Tanjore, Vilupuram, Thiruvallur Pattabiram, and Thoothukudi, over the years, to provide technical equipment and office space. These parks have played a key role in providing employment opportunities and supporting the state’s growing IT sector. The Taramani Tidel Park in Chennai has been one of the most successful, hosting multiple private companies.

The Ooty Tidel Park will be the first in the region to feature both office spaces and recreational facilities, offering a perfect work-life balance. The park will span 20 acres in Edapally, Ooty, and include office spaces, accommodations, and park areas for employees. The unique feature of this project is that a private company is constructing it at its cost. It is the first Tidel Park to be developed with private participation. Here, the land is given under lease for 45 years for the developer. The project is in conformity with the Tamil Nadu government’s focus on job creation and economic growth in the region.

The coming of Ooty Tidel Park will position the hill station as a work-life destination where employees can work remotely while soaking in the holiday charm of the region. This is expected to merge work and leisure, which might in turn allure a new crop of professionals into the region.

Being sustainable, Ooty Tidel Park is expected to be the beacon for future developments all across Tamil Nadu, reaffirming the state’s eco-friendly growth and support for the IT sector.
