Marubeni Corporation, the Japanese conglomerate, invested ₹1,000 crore in setting up an industry-ready future-proof industrial park in Telangana’s emerging Future City.

Telangana government has announced by signing the Letter of Intent (LoI) between Telangana and Marubeni at Tokyo in Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s official tour and his “Telangana Rising” mission to Japan. The move marks an important milestone towards developing Indo-Japanese industrial cooperation.

As per the proposal submitted to the state, the industrial park will span 600 acres and will be developed in phases. It is designed to host Japanese and global manufacturing companies, to bring in over ₹5,000 crore in cumulative investments.

The Marubeni Industrial Park will target high-end segments like electronics, green pharma, precision engineering, aerospace, and defense. These are compatible with Telangana’s effort to bring in foreign direct investment into high-value manufacturing and induce skilled employment generation.

“This will be one of the first major projects in our planned Future City,” Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said. It’s estimated to create 30,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities and have a material impact on the industrial ecosystem of the state.”

The revelation highlights Telangana’s burgeoning attractiveness as an industrial hub as well as Japan’s rising enthusiasm for strengthening economic relationships with Indian states.
