Telangana is taking a significant step to strengthen its industrial ecosystem with plans to develop a multipurpose industrial park in the Kodangal Assembly constituency, represented by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The proposed project is expected to play a key role in driving industrial growth, improving infrastructure, and creating employment opportunities in the region.
The Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation has completed the planning and documentation work for the project and is currently awaiting statutory and environmental clearances. According to the pre feasibility report, the industrial park will be spread across 849.6 acres covering Hakeempet, Polepally, and Lagcherla villages in Dudyal mandal of Vikarabad district. Once approvals are in place, the project is expected to be completed within one to two years.
TGIIC has proposed an investment of around Rs 210 crore to develop core infrastructure within the industrial park. This includes internal road networks, reliable water supply systems, uninterrupted power distribution, and wastewater treatment facilities. Officials say these foundational services are designed to ensure that industries can begin operations smoothly and scale up efficiently over time.
The industrial park is planned as a multipurpose hub and will accommodate a wide range of manufacturing and processing units. Proposed sectors include AAC brick manufacturing, automobile components, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, steel re rolling mills, lead acid battery units, textiles, dairy products, and allied industries. The diversified industrial mix is expected to reduce sectoral risk and create a balanced manufacturing base in the region.
Industry observers note that Kodangal’s location and improved connectivity could make it an attractive destination for medium and large enterprises looking to expand in Telangana. The project is also expected to generate direct and indirect employment, benefiting local communities and supporting ancillary businesses.
A TGIIC spokesperson said the industrial park would act as a catalyst for regional development, strengthening Telangana’s position as an emerging industrial destination while ensuring inclusive economic growth for surrounding rural areas.
