Jindal (India) Ltd., a leading downstream steel products company and member of BC Jindal Group, has ventured into the steel section pipes and tubes business segment with a ₹100 crore investment in its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Howrah, West Bengal.

The organization is focusing on a production of 5,000 metric tonnes (MT) per month for this new business vertical with a target to realize sales revenue of ₹315 crore by FY26. This action is in synchronization with the Make in India policy initiative of the government and is projected to enhance the market presence of Jindal both within India and globally.

“This expansion aligns with our dedication to India’s industrial development and serving the growing demand, especially in the east,” said a company spokesperson. “We also observe good scope for expanding exports using this new range of products.”

The pipes and tubes will find markets in diversified segments including infrastructure, agriculture, railroads, warehouses, and homes. As the market is undergoing high demand, the company expects to gain a significant share of the segment.

Currently, the eastern and southern regions contribute the lion’s share of Jindal (India)’s revenue. However, with its ongoing expansion strategy, the company plans to double revenue contributions from the north and west from 15% to 30% in the near term.

Jindal (India) operates two plants in Howrah, equipped with cutting-edge color coating, galvanizing, and galvalume technologies. Its three major divisions sheets, pipes, and aluminum foil serve customers nationwide. The company holds a dominant position in the colour-coated sheets market under brands like Jindal Sabrang and Jindal NeuColour+, with 70% of its total production focused on coated flat steel products.

The BC Jindal Group, which reported a turnover of over ₹18,000 crore, has a diversified business portfolio spanning steel, energy, and packaging films.
