Hilton has announced a major expansion plan for India’s hospitality sector through a strategic partnership with Royal Orchid Hotels Limited. Under the agreement, the two companies will develop and open 125 Hampton by Hilton hotels across India by 2035, with a strong focus on western and southern markets.

The expansion will primarily cover high-growth states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa. The move comes at a time when India’s domestic travel market is witnessing rapid growth, supported by rising disposable incomes, improved connectivity and the emergence of new business and leisure destinations.

For Hilton, this marks another significant step in strengthening its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing hospitality markets. The company said the partnership aligns with its long-term strategy to expand its upper midscale and mid-market hotel footprint in India.

Royal Orchid Hotels, which owns Regenta Hotels Private Limited, will play a key role in driving the rollout using its local market expertise and operational strength. Industry experts believe the collaboration will help bridge the supply gap for quality branded accommodation in emerging cities and commercial hubs.

The Hampton by Hilton brand is globally known for offering comfortable stays, efficient service and strong value for business as well as leisure travellers. With India’s middle-class travel segment expanding rapidly, the timing of this rollout is seen as highly strategic.

The project is also expected to generate significant employment opportunities across hospitality operations, facility management, food and beverage services, and local support sectors over the next decade.

For states such as Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, the expansion could further strengthen tourism infrastructure and support business travel demand in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
