Emami Realty to Launch Two Residential Projects in Chennai as Part of Expansion Plan

Emami Realty, the real estate arm of the Emami Group, is poised to launch two residential projects in Chennai, covering an area of approximately 20 lakh sq ft. These new developments are part of the company’s ambitious expansion plan to roll out 12 projects across major Indian cities over the next seven years. The total planned area for these projects spans 220 lakh sq ft, encompassing both residential and commercial spaces.

Nitesh Kumar, Managing Director and CEO of Emami Realty, stated that the company is already active in Tamil Nadu. Emami Realty had previously delivered a project in Chennai three years ago and is currently working on another project in Coimbatore. He confirmed that the two new Chennai residential projects will soon begin construction. One of these developments, covering 8.5 lakh sq ft, is expected to be completed by 2028. The second project, spanning approximately 11 lakh sq ft, is slated for completion by 2029. Both projects are classified as upper-mid housing developments.

As part of the company’s broader expansion, Emami Realty plans to invest Rs 100 billion in projects across West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and Jharkhand. The projected revenue from these 12 upcoming ventures is estimated at Rs 150 billion. Emami Realty will leverage its existing land bank, which includes a significant parcel of around 100 acres in Hyderabad. However, the company has not yet decided whether to develop projects in Hyderabad or sell the land.

The investment will focus primarily on construction costs, with the company funding these expenses through internal accruals and revenue generated from project sales. Emami Realty aims to continue expanding its presence in key markets, with five of the 12 upcoming projects located outside its home base in West Bengal.

With these developments, Emami Realty further strengthens its commitment to the Indian real estate sector, positioning itself for significant growth in the coming years.
