Brigade Enterprises Ltd, one of India’s leading real estate developers, has announced the signing of a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) for a premium project in West Chennai. The Bengaluru-based developer revealed in its regulatory filing that the project spans a 6.6-acre land parcel and carries an estimated Gross Development Value (GDV) of Rs 1,000 crore.
This strategic partnership marks another significant milestone in Brigade’s expansion in Tamil Nadu’s capital city. With Chennai being the company’s second-largest market after Bengaluru, the new development is expected to strengthen its presence further and tap into the growing residential and commercial potential of the region.
According to Pavitra Shankar, Managing Director of Brigade Enterprises, the agreement underlines the company’s commitment to deepening its footprint in Chennai’s booming real estate sector. “Chennai continues to show strong growth momentum, backed by robust infrastructure, a thriving economy, and steady demand from both end-users and investors,” she said.
Over the past few years, Chennai’s real estate landscape has witnessed significant transformation driven by infrastructure upgrades, improved connectivity, and expanding IT and manufacturing hubs. West Chennai, in particular, has emerged as a key growth corridor due to the development of new industrial clusters, metro connectivity, and affordable housing demand.
Industry experts believe that Brigade’s entry into this micro-market through a high-value project signals confidence in the city’s long-term real estate outlook. The development is likely to feature mixed-use elements, aligning with Brigade’s established portfolio that includes residential, commercial, and retail spaces across South India.
Brigade Enterprises, known for landmark projects in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kochi, has consistently maintained its reputation for quality and innovation. With this Rs 1,000 crore project, the company aims to further cement its position among India’s top real estate developers and contribute meaningfully to Chennai’s evolving urban landscape.
