BEML Partners with Italy’s Tesmec to Introduce Advanced Surface Miner Technology in India

BEML Ltd, one of India’s leading manufacturers of mining and construction equipment, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Italy-based Tesmec S.p.A to introduce state-of-the-art surface miner technology for the Indian mining sector. Under this collaboration, BEML and Tesmec will jointly develop and market advanced surface miners that can cut, crush, and remove rock and soil layers directly—without the need for conventional drilling or blasting. This innovative technology ensures cleaner, safer, and more eco-friendly mining operations while reducing dust, vibration, and environmental impact.

Surface miners are becoming increasingly popular in global open-cast mining due to their ability to produce uniform material sizes, improve precision, and lower operational costs.
