The Andhra Pradesh government is going ahead with the plan to enhance industrial growth by establishing 10 large industrial parks along major economic corridors. The project will attract investments in high-growth industries and create mass employment for the state overall.

The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has shortlisted more than 4,000 acres for the project. The parks will be placed strategically on the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor—two busy corridors with huge logistical advantages for investors.

The government plans to establish the proposed industrial clusters in Atchutapuram, Thimmasamudram, Kosalanagaram, Guttapadu, Komarolu, Jayanthipuram, Kothapalli, Donakonda, Santhabommali, and Routhu Suramala. APIIC has issued an Expression of Interest (EoI), with the last date for bid submissions set for June 6, 2025.

“These parks will be developed as sector-specific hubs to attract investments in high-potential areas such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, electric vehicles, semiconductors, defense and aerospace, food and agro-processing, aqua-processing, leather, textiles, drone manufacturing, and various downstream industries,” said a senior APIIC official.

The plan is part of the state’s broader strategy to leverage its connectivity, available land bank, and proximity to ports and highways to create a robust industrial ecosystem. Officials believe this initiative will accelerate economic activity, diversify the state’s industrial base, and support job creation in both core and ancillary sectors.

By aligning industrial infrastructure with national economic corridors, Andhra Pradesh hopes to position itself as a preferred destination for next-generation industries seeking expansion in India’s southern region.
