Alumil Group has launched Loop 80, a certified aluminium material containing 80% recycled content, marking a global milestone in sustainability. This follows the success of Loop 60, introduced in 2023. Loop 80 reduces CO2 emissions by 87% compared to primary aluminium production, offering substantial energy and raw material savings. By reusing existing aluminium, the company cuts down on bauxite mining, contributing to eco-friendly practices.
“The commitment to sustainability drives everything we do. Loop 80, with 80% recycled content, is now available in large quantities, catering to projects that seek international sustainability certifications like LEED and BREEAM,” said Theodoros Axouristos, MD of Alumil India. The material is one of the few certified recycled aluminium options globally, including in India, enabling high-specification architectural systems.
Loop 80 is part of Alumil’s involvement in the REcycling technologies for circular aluminium (REcAL) project, an initiative aimed at transforming aluminium recycling. As secondary aluminium production uses only 5% of the energy required for primary production, this innovation further strengthens the company’s commitment to energy conservation and environmental responsibility.
Axouristos highlighted, “We remain dedicated to advancing the circular economy, minimizing environmental impact, and pushing the boundaries of green innovation. Loop 80 is a critical step toward enhancing the quality of life and building a sustainable future.” The launch marks a significant contribution to sustainable architecture and energy conservation.
