Aurum PropTech has signed an agreement to acquire Housing.com from REA India in an all-equity transaction, marking one of the most significant developments in India’s rapidly evolving PropTech sector. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Aurum PropTech’s position by combining a leading digital property marketplace with its existing technology-driven real estate solutions.
As part of the transaction, Aurum PropTech will issue 1,97,93,309 new equity shares to REA India. Following the completion of the deal, REA India will hold a 24.9 percent stake in Aurum PropTech, reinforcing its long-term strategic association with the company.
Housing.com has established itself as one of India’s most recognised online property platforms, attracting an average monthly traffic of more than 580 lakh visitors and over 120 lakh monthly active users. By integrating this platform with Aurum PropTech’s technology ecosystem, the company aims to offer an end-to-end digital real estate experience covering property discovery, brokerage, rentals, transactions and data intelligence.
Industry experts believe the acquisition reflects the growing trend of technology-led consolidation in India’s real estate market. As digital adoption accelerates, developers, brokers and homebuyers are increasingly relying on integrated platforms that simplify property transactions while providing better market insights.
According to Aurum Ventures Founder and CEO Ashish Deora, bringing Housing.com together with Aurum’s technology platform will create a stronger ecosystem where customer intent, transaction data and financing solutions work together to improve the overall property buying and selling experience.
REA Group CEO Cameron McIntyre said Aurum PropTech possesses the local expertise and operational capability required to lead the next phase of Housing.com’s growth in India. He expressed confidence that the partnership would unlock new opportunities for innovation and long-term value creation.
The proposed acquisition highlights the increasing importance of digital platforms in India’s real estate sector. As competition intensifies among PropTech companies, integrated technology solutions are expected to play a crucial role in improving transparency, customer engagement and operational efficiency across the property market.
