
Andhra Pradesh has approved a major investment proposal by Patanjali Ayurved Limited to establish a ₹370 crore Food and Herbal Park in Vizianagaram district, reinforcing the state’s focus on attracting food processing industries and generating employment in rural regions.
The project will be developed at Chinnaraopalli village after the state government issued GO No. 131, authorising the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) to hand over 70 acres of land following Cabinet approval. The integrated facility is expected to become an important manufacturing and processing hub for food and Ayurvedic products in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
According to the government, the Food and Herbal Park will manufacture more than 500 food, Ayurvedic and herbal products. The facility will utilise locally sourced agricultural produce including pulses, millets, spices and other farm commodities, creating stronger market opportunities for farmers while encouraging value addition within the state.
The project is also expected to generate more than 2,000 direct employment opportunities, supporting economic growth in Vizianagaram district and neighbouring regions. Officials believe the investment will strengthen the agro-processing ecosystem, increase industrial activity and improve rural livelihoods by creating a stable demand for locally produced agricultural commodities.
To support the investment, the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), based on recommendations from the State Investment Promotion Committee (SIPC), has approved customised incentives worth up to ₹131.41 crore under the Andhra Pradesh Food Processing Policy 2024–29. The incentive package includes capital subsidy, reimbursement of power costs and electricity duty reimbursement. These benefits will be released over five years after the project begins commercial production, excluding employment-related incentives.
The approval also revives an earlier proposal that had remained pending after 2019. With renewed policy support and infrastructure assistance, the state aims to accelerate industrial development while strengthening its position as a preferred destination for food processing investments.
The Patanjali Food and Herbal Park is expected to play a significant role in expanding Andhra Pradesh’s food processing sector, enhancing farmer incomes, creating employment opportunities and supporting sustainable industrial growth across the region.
