Lemon Tree Hotels has announced the signing of a new hotel property in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, further strengthening its presence in one of South India’s most prominent cultural and tourism destinations. The upcoming hotel will be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels, as part of the group’s continued expansion strategy across high-potential markets.

The new Lemon Tree Hotel, Kumbakonam, will feature 66 well-appointed rooms designed to cater to the needs of both leisure and business travellers. The property will offer a range of modern amenities including a multi-cuisine restaurant, banquet and meeting facilities, a swimming pool, a spa, and a fitness centre. These facilities are expected to enhance the hospitality experience for guests visiting the temple town.

Kumbakonam is widely recognised for its rich spiritual, cultural, and architectural heritage. The city attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists every year due to its historic temples, religious festivals, and traditional significance. In recent years, the region has also witnessed growing business and commercial activity, creating additional demand for quality hospitality infrastructure.

The latest signing reflects Lemon Tree Hotels’ strategy of expanding into heritage destinations and emerging travel markets that continue to record strong visitor demand. By establishing a presence in Kumbakonam, the company aims to tap into the growing tourism sector while providing modern accommodation options for domestic and international travellers.

With the addition of the Kumbakonam property, Lemon Tree Hotels now has eight operational and upcoming properties in Tamil Nadu. The expansion highlights the company’s confidence in the state’s tourism and hospitality potential, supported by strong connectivity, cultural attractions, and increasing visitor footfalls.

Industry observers believe that the hospitality sector in Tamil Nadu is poised for further growth as investments continue to flow into tourism infrastructure and travel-related services. The upcoming Lemon Tree Hotel in Kumbakonam is expected to contribute to this growth while strengthening the company’s presence in South India’s competitive hospitality market.
