Brigade Hotel Ventures to Invest ₹1,000 Crore in Karnataka to Expand Hospitality Portfolio

Brigade Hotel Ventures Ltd (BHVL) has announced plans to invest around ₹1,000 crore in Karnataka over the next five years as part of its aggressive expansion strategy in the hospitality sector. The investment will focus on developing new hotel properties, upgrading existing assets, and strengthening the company’s footprint in premium tourism and experiential travel markets across the state.

The announcement comes as Grand Mercure Mysuru, the company’s flagship hospitality property, completed 10 years of operations. Brigade Hotel Ventures said the hotel has played a key role in positioning Mysuru as a major luxury leisure destination in South India, especially during the annual Dasara celebrations that attract domestic and international tourists.

Under its larger Vision 2031 strategy, the company aims to add nearly 1,700 room keys over the next five years with a projected capital expenditure of around ₹3,600 crore. BHVL said the expansion will primarily target high growth tourism and business travel destinations in Karnataka and other parts of South India.

Company officials noted that Mysuru has transformed significantly over the last decade, evolving beyond a weekend tourism destination into a growing business, cultural, and heritage hub. This transformation has given the company the confidence to expand further in the state’s hospitality market.

Since its launch in 2016, the 146 key Grand Mercure Mysuru has emerged as one of the city’s prominent upscale hospitality destinations. The company believes the strong growth in domestic tourism, improving connectivity, and increasing preference for premium travel experiences will continue to support the sector’s long term growth.

Brigade Hotel Ventures also said its future developments will focus on sustainability, wellness oriented travel experiences, and community integrated hospitality projects. The company expects Karnataka’s growing tourism ecosystem and rising visitor inflows to create strong opportunities for long term expansion in the hospitality industry.
