Naidu Announces ArcelorMittal Steel Plant and Google Data Centre Projects in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced that the foundation stone for the ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel plant in Anakapalli will be laid this month marking a major milestone in the state’s efforts to attract large industrial investments and strengthen its manufacturing ecosystem.

Speaking in the Legislative Assembly the Chief Minister also confirmed that the foundation for a Google data centre in Visakhapatnam is expected to be laid in April highlighting the growing interest of global technology companies in Andhra Pradesh as a rising digital infrastructure destination in India.

Naidu said the government has been actively rebuilding the state investment image and restoring investor confidence after a period of uncertainty in the past few years According to him strategic policy reforms faster approvals and proactive engagement with industry leaders have helped Andhra Pradesh regain attention from major global and domestic investors.

He added that the state has introduced sector focused policies and is encouraging development of industrial parks across its constituencies to create balanced regional growth. Large investments from companies such as ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel Google and the Tata Group are expected to generate employment boost supply chains and accelerate infrastructure development across multiple districts.

The Chief Minister also emphasised that Andhra Pradesh aims to transform into a strong economic engine in the coming decades with a long term vision of building a two point four trillion dollar economy by 2047. He said the Amaravati Visakhapatnam and Tirupati economic regions would act as key growth hubs supporting industry technology tourism and services sectors.

Naidu noted that the government is focusing on faster project clearances improved ease of doing business and stronger infrastructure networks to ensure that investments translate into real economic activity and jobs on the ground. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to improving public health education and industrial ecosystems so that long term development remains inclusive and sustainable.

With major global companies committing investments and new projects taking shape across the state Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself as a competitive destination for manufacturing technology and infrastructure investment in India while strengthening its growth outlook.
