Pidilite Industries to Invest Rs 300 Crore in New Manufacturing Facility in Punjab

Pidilite Industries has announced a major investment plan to strengthen its manufacturing footprint in North India with a new production facility in Rajpura, Punjab. The company will invest approximately Rs 300 crore to develop the plant, marking a significant step in Punjab’s industrial expansion and job creation efforts.

The upcoming facility will be spread across 31 acres and located in the villages of Majri Faqiran and Sohne Majra near Rajpura. According to the Punjab government, the plant will focus on the mixing and blending of new adhesives and waterproofing products, catering to rising demand from the construction, infrastructure and housing sectors. Once operational, the unit will have a total annual production capacity of around 2,00,000 metric tonnes, including 1,40,000 metric tonnes of adhesives and 60,000 metric tonnes of waterproofing solutions.

Punjab Cabinet Minister for Industry and Commerce Sanjeev Arora said the project is expected to generate nearly 300 direct and indirect employment opportunities. These jobs will span skilled, semi-skilled and supervisory roles, providing a meaningful boost to the local workforce and supporting allied industries in the region.

The entire investment will be funded through Pidilite’s internal accruals, underlining the company’s strong balance sheet and long-term commitment to domestic manufacturing. Commercial production at the facility is scheduled to commence by December 2027. Once completed, the plant is expected to play a key role in improving supply efficiency and reducing logistics costs for markets across northern India.

Industry observers note that Punjab’s improving industrial infrastructure and investor-friendly policies are increasingly attracting large manufacturing investments. For Pidilite, the Rajpura plant aligns with its broader strategy of expanding capacity closer to demand centres while maintaining high quality and sustainability standards.

The project is also expected to contribute to the state’s economic development by strengthening the local industrial ecosystem and increasing ancillary business activity. With construction activity and infrastructure spending gaining momentum across India, Pidilite’s new Punjab facility positions the company to serve future demand while supporting regional growth and employment generation.
