New Bus Stand at Srivilliputhur to Open on or Before 15th April

Srivilliputhur is to be gifted with a new, high-tech bus stand by April 15, with construction work picking up pace towards completion. The idea is to adapt to the rapidly growing demands and urban expansions with traffic, this new facility shall be used as a tool of the future city for 50 years by understanding the growth pattern of population as well as how the people move around the next 50 years.

Under construction for Rs 13 crore, the bus stand will boast various amenity facilities designed to enhance the travel experience of residents and visitors alike. It will have a parking space for 30 buses, an exclusive two-wheeler area for 100 vehicles, and a parking facility for 50 cars. Additional conveniences for both travelers and residents will be found in two big hotels and 67 shops. Medical support is always at hand, thanks to a health complex spread over four different locations. Other important facilities include drinking water and seating space.

Construction work on shops is currently going on, while installation of doors and electricity connection are in the pipeline. Roads are yet to be laid, though municipal administration seems quite optimistic of finishing all works before March 30.

Municipal Chairman Ravikannan clarified that all endeavors are being taken on time so that the rest of the jobs are finished on schedule, and the bus stop would be ready by mid-April. The much-needed relief to Srivilliputhur people in this new facility will come a long way in upgrading the city’s infrastructure and capacity to absorb growing traffic volumes in the future.
