
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) invited tenders to the four-lane Marakkanam–Puducherry stretch of National Highway-332A to a four-lane corridor. The road from km 62.000 to km 108.047 a length of 46.047 km in Tamil Nadu is a critical part of the Mahabalipuram–Puducherry corridor (Package-III).
The scheme shall be implemented on hybrid annuity model (HAM) terms at a cost of ₹1,178.05 crore.
Major components are rehabilitation, expansion and upgrading of the existing road, new pavement construction, and replacement of the existing pavements. The work involves the construction and strengthening of the main and minor bridges on the alignment. Once the construction is complete, the contractor who has secured the contract and won several awards will maintain and operate the upgraded section.
The bidding submission deadline is June 26, 2025.
The focus of the project involves improving connectivity within the region and saving travel time among tourist and trade centers along the East Coast.
